About Coach Mike

Training for Worldwide Success with influence!

Coach Mike Behnke is both a national and international basketball coach whose career spans over 20 years. He has coaching licenses with both USA Basketball Youth Development and FIBA International Basketball.

 

Coach Mike has coached both men and women at various levels of play, including high school, college, and National Team competitions.  He has a certification in Sports Management through the United States Sports Academy (Daphne, Alabama). He is also a graduate of the International Federation of Basketball (FIBA) Independent Federation Management program through the World Academy of Sport (Manchester, UK)

 

Coach Mike has coached many different teams in several different countries, including the United States, Nepal, Bhutan, and India. His more significant coaching positions have been as the Head Coach of Women’s Basketball at the University of Valley Forge (NCAA DIV III), as Head Coach of Girls Basketball at Phoenixville High School (PA), as the Head Coach of the Pottstown Flames (ABA), and an assistant with the West Chester Wildcats (ABA). During his coaching career, He lived and coached overseas for six years. Most notably serving two years as the Women’s National Team Coach for the country of Bhutan, leading them to their first international win in country history. He is currently the Head Coach of a private Christian High  School Girls varsity team that features a truly international squad with players from 4 different countries. 

 

Coach Mike is currently the founder and Director of Basketball Operations at Basecamp Basketball based in Pottstown, PA. Basecamp combines all of Coach Mike’s international experience and overseas network into a non-profit organization dedicated to training players for worldwide basketball success with influence. Basecamp is proud to be the parent company of the Pottstown Power.
